The Purdue Engineering Student Council hosted their 25th annual Spring career fair catered towards Engineering, Science, and Management majors EXPO 2018 this Tuesday the 30th. The event provided students an opportunity to network with 170 potential employers offering internships, co-ops, and full-time positions.
Every year PESC organizes this career fair as well as Industrial Roundtable in the fall. According to the director of the fair, sophomore Scott Lenz, "EXPO is consistently able to attract over 5000 Purdue students to the event and the consistently strong turnout helps us to recruit some of the nations largest companies to the fair". The career fair is coupled with company information sessions the day before the event. Scott went on to say that "Between company seminars and the fair, we hope to give students the opportunity to get as much face-time with companies as possible.”
Gaining industry experience is one of the best ways for students to boost their appeal to employers before leaving college and entering the workforce. The efforts of PESC and other campus organizations put into hosting career fairs like EXPO is something that benefits thousands of students on our campus every year.
