Yesterday around 20 members of Purdue Student Government took a trip to the statehouse in Indianapolis. They were set up in the north atrium and met with lawmakers, many of whom were Purdue alumni.

Conversations were focused on thanking lawmakers for their continued support of higher education and sharing stories of college experiences. They also spoke as a group to each of Purdue's local representatives: Rep. Sally Siegrist, Rep. Sheila Klinker, and Sen. Ron Alting.

The goal of the trip was not to lobby, but to foster relationships within the Indiana General Assembly. Through these relationships, PSG hopes to stay in communication with lawmakers regarding legislation authored for future legislative sessions.
